Optimizing BGP scan process

Hi all,
Trong mang ISP viec toi uu hoa CPU rat quan trong. Default 60s cisco router chay BGP scan no se lam cac nhiem vu sau:
Validate nexthop reachability
Validate bestpath selection
Route redistribution and network statements
Conditional advertisement
Route dampening
BGP Database cleanup

--> Tien trinh nay se kha ton cpu cua router. Moi anh em thao luan cach toi uu hoa de lam giam viec tieu ton CPU do BGP scan.

Minh dang muon tim cach optimize de lam giam qua trinh xu ly cua tien trinh nay. Vi neu la mot stable and large network thi tien trinh nay cang can duoc giam di ???

Có một số ý kiến sau:
- Aggregate route lại.
- Nếu enterprise có ibgp thì ta nên làm route-reflector
Because the BGP Scanner process runs through the entire BGP table, the duration of the high CPU condition varies with the number of neighbors and the number of routes learned per neighbor
- Nếu có redistribute thì nên sử dụng hạn chế lại, dùng các chính sách càng ít càng tốt, vì các chính sách này nằm trên bộ nhớ mất công BGP phải check lại tốn performance
- Cấu hình BGP Scan-time cũng sẽ giảm được một phần nhỏ nếu có dùng VPNv4 [mặc định 15 second ]
Bởi vì BGP scanner có độ ưu tiên hầu nhu là cao nhất, nên các process khác muốn xử lí phải đợi thằng này.
