Mình show interface lên thì thấy tất cả đều UP hết. Thế nhưng chỉ ping được cai int ethernet thôi, còn cái ATM thì không ping được (local)

FYI:

LightStream sản phẩm (series 100, 200, 1010) là các ATM switches.

Cơ bản (chỉ co bản thôi) chúng cũng hoat dộng như một Frame hay ISDN switch. Cisco mua hãng Lightstream rồi modified 1010 thành Catalyst WS-C8510.
Unit này cũng dược integrated vào Catalyst 5500 (slot 9-13 ).
WS-C8540 là Integrated Multi-service ATM switch. 8540 supports high density of ATM, FE, GE, and Serial interfaces. Dây là cái mà Cisco gọi là Switching Router.

ATM switches dùng dể terminate ATM VPI/VCI là phương tiện chuyên chở layer3 traffic, (trunking, ELAN, MPOA, for example) trong các huge backbone.
Nếu làm quen với Cisco device, configure 8510/8540 không quá khó! Cần cẩn thận cho addressing.
Trong Cisco CCIE (retired) ATM labs, candidates phải play around với LS1010/8510.
Với track khác (R/S, Sec, Voice) switches dã dược pre-configured candidates chỉ follow the given addresses to do their work.
